Liverpool's only annual Christmas appeal to directly benefit disadvantaged children in Merseyside has launched.

The Toy Appeal 2012, launched by St Johns and Clayton Square Shopping Centres, Arriva Buses and Juice FM, will ask local people to donate toys and games to children who would otherwise receive
no Christmas gifts this year.

Britain's first privately paid for city centre 'cop shop' has scooped a national award. 

City Central BID, which co-funds Liverpool's City Centre Access Point, received the 'Outstanding work by a BID award' at the Association of Town Centre Management's annual awards in Bristol.
